One can never know enough about how to take care of oneself. I have studied different programs to add to my knowledge and am able to help you improve your health and fitness level. You don't have to aim to be a bodybuilder or a professional athlete. But aim to be in the best health you can be. Don't wait! Start training in a friendly atmosphere one on one, with a trained fitness instructor as myself. We'll go at the pace that's best for you. And we'll make it interesting and fun.
Certificate Vanier College Fitness Instructor Training Program
I began my training with this certificate and fell in love with fitness! From cardio to weight training, I learned how to properly execute exercises to help better your body and health, and avoid injury.
Canada Fitness Award (Excellence)
My first competitive fitness award in high school. I had won several silver and gold throughout my high school, but I finally succeeded in winning the award of excellence! I didn't start out very sporty or agile. I had to work at it, but it paid off. I'm 48 years old today and in better physical fitness shape today than I was in my 20's and 30's! It's never too late to start! What are you waiting for?
Vegetarian Sports Nutrition - DSW Fitness (in progress)
I received certification for the course: Vegetarian Sports Nutrition, through DSW Fitness. I am a serious vegetarian (lacto-ovo) since over 20 years. By taking this course, I am able to fine tune and help anyone who is currently a vegetarian, or just wants to eat less meat and be healthier.
It has been proven through various studies and tests that vegetarians can enjoy a healthier and even longer life than non-vegetarians, but they must learn to balance their macronutrients properly to avoid any deficiencies, just like every person - whether they eat meat or not. Let me teach you how to eat healthy but incorporating less meat and more plant foods, as well as nuts, seeds, tofu, beans and many other wonderful foods! So many ways to prepare foods that there's bound to be some ways you enjoy!
Nutrition for Menopause & Beyond Certification
This course has helped me to better help someone going through the menopause stages - the bodily changes, the weight gains, the energy needs, common deficiencies in vitamins & minerals. There are more health concerns for women once they reach their menopause, but through consistent exercising and healthy eating, you can avoid some of the health issues, like brittle bones, vitamin deficiencies, etc.
Look at this stage of life as a new chapter and embrace it with healthy choices!
ISSA Specialist in Fitness Nutrition
Whether you want to gain muscle, lose fat, or live healthily, your limiting factor usually lies beyond exercise. Poor nutrition is what holds people back. As an ISSA student working toward my certification in this area, I will soon be able to help you dispel the common myths about nutrition, and then work with you to design a "real world" nutrition plan that you can actually stick with and enjoy.
ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer
It's no secret - fitness training has been proven to prevent disease, strengthen your health and improve your confidence and outlook on life. As an ISSA student working toward my certification to be a trainer, I'm learning about everything from muscle mechanics to flexibility and cardiovascular dynamics. So if you want to live a stronger and more confident life, I will soon have the training and the expertise to help you every step of the way.
